Bing Index Checker

Find out whether Bing has indexed a website. The checker runs a site: search on Bing, shows Bing’s estimate of the pages it knows about and lists the pages it found.

Runs a site: search on Bing for the whole domain.

How to use the Bing Index Checker

  1. Enter a domain

Type the website you want to check, such as example.com. There is no need to add https:// or www.

  2. Pick a market

Bing’s index is global, but results can vary slightly by country and language.

  3. Read the result

See whether the site is indexed, Bing’s estimated page count and a list of indexed pages.

What to do if your site is not indexed in Bing

  1. Verify the site in Bing Webmaster Tools. It is free and gives you crawl, index and search performance reports. You can import a site you already verified in Google Search Console.
  2. Submit your XML sitemap so Bingbot can discover every page you want indexed.
  3. Use IndexNow to notify Bing instantly when you publish, update or delete a page.
  4. Check robots.txt and meta tags. Make sure Bingbot is not blocked and important pages do not carry a noindex tag.
  5. Publish useful, original content. Bing may skip thin or duplicate pages even after crawling them.

Why the page count is an estimate

The number of results Bing shows for a site: search is a quick estimate, not an exact count. It can change from one search to the next and between countries. Use it to spot big problems, such as a site with thousands of pages that shows only a handful in Bing. For exact numbers on a site you own, use the URL Inspection and Site Explorer reports in Bing Webmaster Tools.

Bing Index Checker FAQ

How does the Bing index checker work?

It searches Bing for site:yourdomain.com, which asks Bing to show only pages from that domain. If any results come back, the site is in Bing’s index.

Why does the number of indexed pages change?

Bing’s count is an estimate calculated at search time. It moves as Bing crawls, adds and removes pages, and it can differ between markets.

How long does Bing take to index a new website?

It varies from a few days to several weeks. Verifying the site in Bing Webmaster Tools, submitting a sitemap and using IndexNow usually speeds up discovery.

My site is indexed but does not rank. What next?

Being indexed only means Bing knows the page exists. Use the Bing rank checker to see where it ranks and the SERP checker to study the pages Bing prefers for your keywords.
